Chittagong city corporation could not achieve revenue collection target in consequent recent financial years despite several measures of collection. In recent statistics of the revenue collection, it is ascertained that only one third of the total target is achieved . In the immediate past FY , it collects revenue only 29 percent of the target .Sources said only Tkis 211 crores realized in last fiscal which is less than one third of the target. In a recent press meet of the city mayor apprised the newsmen that the target coujld not be achieved due to some reasons like proper assessment of the holding tax, impact of legal suit over realization of holding tax and lack of leasing of a number of city hats and bazaars.
