Chittagong City Corporation and the Bangladesh Water Development Board will launch joint projects to save the city from floods, tidal surge and water logging .
This was declared at a meeting of views exchange in between CCC and WDB at city corporation conference hall held yesterday morning. Under the project titled’ Improvement of Drainage system& Water logging Mitigation of Chittagong City’, both the organization will work jointly for constructing embankment, flood control embankment, river management and pump house in the city.
Senior officials of CCC and WDB were present in the meeting duly presided by city mayor AJM. Nasiruddin.
City mayor in his addressed stressed the need for formulating the development projects aimed at controlling the inflow of tidal water inside the city and water logging due to heavy rains etc.
Additional chief Engineer of WDB AKM Shamsul Karim presented a picture of the proposed projects to city mayor.
