Chittagong Bureau :City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin said City Corporation Health Department will introduce medicare services for the cancer patients very shortly through their existing health care units in the city. He disclosed it while addressing the seminar on Deadly Disease Cancer arranged at Hotel Radison Blue in Chittagong yesterday morning as chief guest. Chittagong Medical college Hospital Radiotheraphy Deptt and BMA , Chittagong unit jointly arranged the International Breast Cancer seminar for the first time in Chittagong. To create awareness on breast cancer, this seminar was arranged, sources said. City Mayor also disclosed that only radiotherapy machine of CMCH is out of order and the patients are suffering a lot lack of RM and he will write DO letter to Health minister and health DG to provide radiotherapy machine to CMCH immediately . City Mayor also assures that CCC health unit will procure a radiotherapy machine from abroad at their earliest convenience aimed at providing service to the cancer patients with affordable cost.Sources said about 450 physicians participated the seminar where research papers on cancer disease from 20 cancer specialists from home and abroad were presented before the seminar. Among others Prof. Dr. Shariful Alam, Prof. Sheikh Golam Mostafa ,Prof. Kamruzzaman,Prof.Moffazzal Hossain, Prof. Syed Akram Hossain, Brig.GenMd. Azizul Islam participated the discussions. Prof. Md. Moklesh Uddin presided over it while BMA President Dr. Mujibul Hoque Khan , General Secretary Dr. Md. Sharif also spoke on the occasion.
