The authorities of Chittagong City Corporation on Tuesday suspended a doctor for her alleged negligence in duty during delivery of a baby at Memon Maternity Hospital under the city corporation.
The suspended is Dr Ishrat Jahan Begum, a medical officer, said Dr Selim Akter Chowdhury, chief health officer of CCC.
Moreover, the authorities formed a three-member committee to inquire into the allegation.
The committee headed by Dr Selim Muhammad Jahangir, principal of Chittagong Medical College, was asked to submit a report in three working days, said Dr Selim. Shah Newaz, a businessman, alleged that his baby died in his wife’s womb due to negligent treatment at the hospital.
