Chittagong city corporation has drawn out elaborate programs to observe the 41st death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day on August 15 next . This was disclosed by the city mayor AJM Nasiruddin at a meeting of ward councilors and officials at CCC auditorium on Monday.
The meeting was told that one hour long human wall will be formed in important city roads from 9am , Quoran Tilawat Milad, and discussion meeting will be held at CCC hall . National and CCC flag will remain half mast in front of CCC main office as well as all ward offices in the city at early morning. Floral wreaths will be placed at the portrait of Bangabhandu at Nagar Bhaban at 8 am sharp. Supply of rich foods will be distributed among the orphans in all orphan houses in the city as well as Tabarak will be given infront of CCC office. On following day of Augst 16, milad mahfil, special prayer, drawing competition will be held at CCC auditorium. Besides, drawing competitions, and milad will also be arranged in all CCC’s educational institutions in the city on August 16.
Among others, panel mayor Chowdhury Hasan Mahmud Hasni, Jobaida Nargis Khan, councilor Golam Haider Minto, Tarek solaiman, Md. Giasuddin, Jaharlal Hazari, Hasan Murad Biplob, Nazmul Hoque Duwik, Md. Jahurul Alam, Md. Yasin Chowdhury Ashu, Haji Nurul Hoque, Anjuman Ara Begum, Jesmin Parvin, Abida Azad, Ferdousi Akhter were present in the meeting and it was presided by the City Mayor, a CCC sources said.
