Ahmed Hossain, Awami League’s Organizing Secretary, who came from Dhaka to monitor the overall election situation, said it was recommended to expel those who became rebel candidates against the party’s decision. Even those who are sponsoring the rebels, tough organizational decisions may also come.
He said it at an view exchange meetings with Awami League leaders at the main election office of Awami League-nominated mayor candidate Rezaul Karim Chowdhury on Friday last.
Ahmed Hossain said, those of us who do Awami League politics cannot work outside the party decision. Moreover, everyone who applied for the nomination has accepted the party’s decision and pledged to work for the party-backed councilor candidates. Otherwise, the bond stated that he would automatically lose the party post due to breach of party discipline.
