The election of Panel Mayors was held at city corporation auditorium yesterday morning with city Mayor AJM Nasiruddin in the chair.
The newly elected panel mayors are ward councilor Hasan Mahmud Hasni, councilor Jobaida Nargis Khan and Nisar Ahmed . 54 councilors including 42 general ward councilors and 14 reserved women councilor cast their votes to 8 nominees for panel mayors.
CCC sources said among the winners Hasan Mahmud Hasni, Nargis Khan and Nisaruddin get 39 votes, 31 votes and Nisaruddin 30 votes respectively. Mentionable that Hasni is the ward councilor of Dewan Bazar ward, Nargis Khan , reserved women councilor of Mohra ward and Nisaruddin of North kattali ward, sources said.
