The Officials of Chittagong Customs House observed one hour pen down strike yesterday protesting the attack on Joint Commissioner of customs, Benapole Customs house yesterday. The strike enforced from 12 noon to1 pm. Customs BCS Association called this strike.
Additional customs commissioner of Chittagong Md. Azizur Rahman told this correspondent that following the attack on customs officer in BCH, they enforced pen down strike yesterday which will continue until the arrest of the attackers and their exemplary punishment.
He said the officials did not sign any files during the striking period. Lack of file processing and signatures during one hour , all sorts of official works remained suspended and cause sufferings of the beneficiaries.
Mentionable that Joint commissioner Mustafizur Rahman was assaulted by miscreants at BCH on Februay 17.
Sources said BCS Association of Customs and VAT commissioner ate will also observe the pen down strike until the arrest of the culprits with e emplary punishment.
