The newly-elected Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) AJM Nasiruddin at his private chamber of the port city on Wednesday morning held a meeting with officials of the CCC, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) consultants.
In the meeting, he discussed about the implementation of 18 projects involving cost of Tk 2.01 billion.
JICA earlier signed an agreement with the CCC to provide Taka 201.52 crore for implementation of the projects. Nasir asked JICA to complete their construction work within the scheduled time.
As per the agreement, the projects to be implemented in the first phase include constructions of protection wall on Jakir Hossain Road, Airport Road, Mariners Road, Bridge of Rubi Cement industry, Chaktai Cannel, Fisheries Ghat Bridge, Teakpara Bridge and Jalilganj Bridge with many others.
The projects to be implemented in the second phase are development of the Port Connecting Road, beautification and development of Agrabad Access Road, construction of overpasses at Sagarika Alankar and Newmarket intersections, construction of Cyclone Centre and six schools, construction of flood management centre at CCC public library.
The meeting was attended, among others, by Shahzahan Mollah, LGED Project Director, M Rabiul Hossain, Deputy Project Director, AKM Rezaul Karim, CCC Engineer, M Rafiqul Islam, Superintendent Engineer of CCC and Assistant Engineer Asim Barua of CCC.
