Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin has declined unauthenticated allegations against him by the vested quarters
He said, in governing the city corporation, no irregularities committed by him during the period of last 20 months and challenged the allegations of the vested quarters. He disclosed it while addressing the meeting on drug abuse and militancy control as arranged at North Kattali ward office in city on Saturday as chief guest.
Quoting the verses of the former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury , he said till today since his assignment as Mayor never involved in any corruptions, irregularities in city corporaton affairs and blasted the ill remarks of the former Mayor. About the city holding tax, he said city corporation is implementing the directives of the govt and courts in realising the holding tax and reevaluating the assessment of the holding tax. He also mentioned the tax assessemnt during the regime of former Mayor Manzoor Alam and said his pending assessement cases were mitigated by him in phases. City Mayor also awared the city dwellers about the militancy and asked the city dwellers to be more altert regarding presence of militants in the society.
He said anti-militant meeting, rallies will be arranged in all city wards in phases, sources said. Pahartali ward councilor Md. Jahurul Alam presided the meeting in presence of the local leaders and elites ,sources added.
