CCC Mayor for shunning internal feuds to fulfill election pledges

Chittagong City Mayor A J M Nasir Uddin yesterday urged the leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) to remain united shunning internal feud, greed for posts and power to meet the expectations of the people.
“We have come to power with many pledges and now we should work together to fulfill the pledges within next three and a half years as per people’s expectations”, he said this while addressing a condolence meeting on late Bakteyar Nur Siddiqui, Vice President of Chittagong South District Awami League, as the Chief Guest at a local community center here.
Chittagong South District Awami League organised the memorial meeting.
Paying rich tributes to late Bakteyar Nur Siddiqui, a freedom fighter, for his outstanding contributions to the country’s war of independence, he said the AL leaders and workers have many things to learn from his (Siddiqui) life and works.
Presided over by Chittagong South District AL president Moslem Uddin Ahmed, AL Executive Committee member Aminul Islam Amin, AL leaders M A Salam, Mofizur Rahman, late Bakteyar Nur Siddiqui’s son Monnon addressed the function.
Aminul Islam Amin said late Siddiqui had worked for the independence and prosperity of the country throughout his life.
