Chattogram City Mayor (CCC) AJM Nasir Uddin has said that people of all faiths have fought by betting their lives in the liberation war. Keeping that spirit in mind, Bangladesh is moving at an overwhelming pace.
Durga Puja is not for only Hindu community, it’s a festival for people of all faith. For hundreds of years, the Bengali people have taken Durga Puja as their own festival.
He said this while addressing a program at Chattogram City Corporation Conference room on Monday. He donated money to Durga Puja celebrating committee of no: 41 ward during the program on Monday.
The city mayor said the government has been implementing various plans to ensure the overall success and security of the festival. Chittagong City Corporation has made financial donation arrangements to every Puja Mandap of the city. Moreover, Bangladesh Awami League has also taken initiatives to protect security in Durga Puja Festival. In the non-communal spirit, we have to be united to make Bangladesh into a prosperous state in front of the world.
CCC acting Chief Executive Officer Abu Shahed Chowdhury presided over the program. and former general secretary of the Pooja Udjon Parishad chaired by Sujit Das, CCC Social Welfare Standing Committee President Salimullah Bachchu, President of Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council Chittagong Metropolitan Advocate Chandan Talukder and General Secretary Sri Prakash Ashit spoken at the program.
