CCC Mayor, councillors go to capital to take oath

Newly elected Mayor of Chattogram city Rezaul Karim Chowdhury and the councillors went to Dhaka to take oath. The mayor arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Shah Amanat Airport.
On the other hand, 53 newly elected councillors including General Secretary of Nagar Awami League, former Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, organizing secretary Noman Al Mahmud, Shafiq Adnan, publicity secretary Shafiqul Islam Farooq left Dampara Jamiatul Falah ground for Dhaka with a fleet of two AC buses and private vehicles. Earlier, acting president of Nagar Awami League Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury gave them farewell.
Councillor Shaibal Das Sumon said a convoy of councilors, including AJM Nasir Uddin, General Secretary of Nagar Awami League, reached Dhaka safely from Jamiatul Falah ground. There were 10-15 vehicles in the fleet including two AC buses.
According to CCC and party sources, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will administer the virtual oath to the new mayor of CCC yesterday at 11 am at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. After taking oath, the newly elected mayor will go to Dhanmondi No. 32 with the leaders and workers.
There he will pay homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The mayor will exchange views with journalists at the National Press Club at 1pm. The next day, on Friday (February 12), the mayor’s convoy will leave for Tungipara.
After paying homage and paying homage there, he will leave for Chattogram.
