Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin has called for taking oath to uproot militancy and terrorism from the country .
He was addressing a discussion meeting on the National Mourning Day arranged at District Shilpakala Academy yesterday in observance of the 41st death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
District administration of Chittagong arranged this programme on the Mourning Day.
As Chief Guest on the occasion, city mayor said on this very auspicious day, we should take oath to eliminate terrorism and militancy from the country.
Deputy Inspector general of Police, Chittagong Range Shafiqul Islam said after liberation of Bangladesh, Pakistan was actively involved with the killings of Bangabandhu but they could not became successful to their motives.
He also blamed religious based politics in Bangladesh after the killing of the father of the nation. Among others, acting Divisional commissioner of Chittagong Mr.Sankar Ranjan saha, Police super Nure Alam Mina, FF Commander Shahabuddin, City FF commander Mazaffar Ahmed also spoke in it.
KGDCL observes National Mourning Day : In observance of the 41st death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman , Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Ltd, Chittagong observed National Mourning Day through arranging discussion meeting and Doa Mahfil at its head office yesterday .
Managing Director of KGDCL Shamsur Rahman graced the occasion as Chief Guest. General Manager of KGDCL and Convenor of Ntl Mourning Day Udjapon Committee Engr. Motiur Rahman
Presided the celebration programmes.
Among others, General Manager (Admin) Md. Firoj Khan, General Manager(Marketting) Engr. Sudhir Shaha, President of KGDCL Officers Association Engr. Anisuddin Ahmed , Presdient of KGDCL Employees Union Farid Ahmed and General Secretary Md. Aslam spoke on the occasion.
Officers and employees irrespective of status also participated the discussions and Milad Mahifil.
The speakers in the mourning day discussion paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu and prayer for peace of his departed soul.
The speakers remembered the contribution of the father of the nation with deep respect and honour , a sources of KGDCL said.
