Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin has set a three-day deadline for submitting reports of progress on work of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) projects for urban infrastructure development.
He attended a discussion meeting with the engineers at the Conference Room of City Corporation at Tiger Pass Sunday.
The meeting discussed about the truck terminals operated by CCC, LED lamps and sewerage mitigation project, ADB project, BMDF project, JICA project, Arakan road development, Baripara canal excavation project, Filatatli Bazar road development and construction of a residential residence.
The Mayor directed the CCC Engineers to prepare and submit details of the progress of the ongoing projects.
The projects that are pending in City Corporation are set to be completed by next September. The mayor suggested hiring a contractor to test this.
Chief Executive Officer Md. Shamsuddoha ,personal secretary of the city Mayor. Abul Hashem, Additional Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik, Engineer Delwar Hossain Majumdar, Architect Sohail Mahmud Shakur, Superintendent Engineer Monirul Huda, Anwar Hossain, Kamrul Islam, Abu Saleh, Superintendent Executive Engineer Sudhip Bashak, Jhulam Bhabh, Executive Engineer Farhadul Alam , Shahinul Islam, Abu Sadat Mohammed Tayeb and Assistant Engineer Abu Siddique were present during the meeting.
City Mayor urged the ongoing projects to be completed by mid-December in any way, adding that the engineers have to act with integrity and sincerity.
Work must be completed within the stipulated time period. No excuse will be accepted.
During the meeting, he directed the concerned to start urgently patchwork on the damaged roads of the city.
The mayor said civil service relies heavily on the engineering department. Every citizen must be responsible for the interests of the citizen. On the basis of accountability, the development activities of their respective departments should be conducted.
Conducting development activities through co-operation with each other will ensure quality of work. If we care about responsibility, the civic expectation will be met he added.
