Chittagong City Corporation(CCC) has distributed cheques for Tk.4 crores for infrastructure development in city on Sunday .
With the cooperation of CCC under partnership package programs in city, GOB, UKAID and UNDP jointly donated this amount for infrastructure development of 87 committee aimed at reducing poverty eradication.
These cheques distributed to 87 Ciommunity Development committee at a function, CCC sources said. City Mayor M Manzoor Alam distributed these cheques at function arranged at Theatre Institute Hall on Sunday as chief guest.
The chief guest in his brief deliverations urged the women leaders of the respective CDC to ensure their development of the respective community area and hoped that women leadership will surely fulfill the purpose of the program. Chief of Poverty Eradication program in Bangladesh Mr.Graham said UKAID is the major partner and UK govt spent about 630 million pound in this program since 2013.
Special guest Mr.Graham also told that the first installment of Tk.4 cr distributed out of total budget grant of Tk.9.30 cr approved in 2013 for 124 CDC under UPPR and this amount should be spent properly for development of the community development and the benefits of the beneficiaries. Panel Mayor Md. Hossain presided over the function.
