Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin declared annual budget for fiscal 2017-18 amounting to Tk.2327 crores 67 lakhs and revised budget of Tk.662.66 crores .
He declared the budget at a press conference held as CCC Auditorium yesterday afternoon duly attended by the journalists, high CCC officials and councilors . The budget of the immediate past fiscal was Tk.2225.67 crores.
After approval of the budget in budget session, Mayor declared it in the press meet yesterday. This was the third budget of the incumbent mayor since his assuming power as Mayor.
The two years tenure of present mayor expired on July 25 last. In the proposed budget income shown Tk.994.37 crores from CCC own sources . In last fiscal, income from own sources achieved Tk.366.51 crores. In the proposed budget development head shown Tk.1290 crores but in last fiscal development fund from govt received only Tk.262.24 crores. In expenditure head, proposed expenditure shown Tk.2325.26 cr with surplus of Tk.2.40 cr over the income. Among others, Chief Executive Officer of CCC Md. Shamsudoha, Secretary Abul Hossain, Chief Revenue officer Mustafizur Rahman spoke on the budget meeting.
