Case has been filed against a ruling party ward commissioner in Chittagong City Corporation on charge of land grabbing and other irregularities, but the police did not take any legal action till the date for reasons best known to them.
Nazrul Islam Bahadur- councilor of ward no: 28 and President of Chittagong Awami League Pathantuli Unit allegedly beat some persons including a woman when he [councilor] went to take control of about 40 kathas of land [32 gandas] adjacent to Sheikh Mujib Road, Agrabad, Chittagong.
The present market price of the land is about Tk 100 crore.
Mrs Amena Begum, a resident of Gowsaindanga, on Wednesday filed a case with Chittagong
Metropolitan Magistrate Court against six persons including the councilor for forcefully grabbing a land on behalf of a business house.
