Apart from the permanent cattle markets of Sagarika, Bibirhat and Postarpar, Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has got permission to set up only 3 temporary cattle hats this year .These temporary hats will be set up for 10 days under 17 conditions at Karnafuli cattle market (Nurnagar Housing), Saltgola Rail Crossing and vacant land south of Patenga Butterfly Park.
Among the 17 conditions given by the district administration is that the temporary cattle markets should be placed at least 100 yards away from the main road so that the traffic on the main road is not disrupted under any circumstances. 20 percent of the leased money will have to be paid as land revenue. No animals or poles can be placed on the road outside the market. To prevent corona infection, hygiene rules should be followed at the market, hand sanitizer, soap and water should be provided on the way in and out. Social distance must be maintained by standing in line when entering and leaving. Buyers and sellers should all wear masks.
