Chattogram Bureau :
Khorshed Alam Sujan, Administrator of Chattogram City Corporation, has ordered to shutdown the shop that was built illegally for the renovation and beautification of the Biplob Udyan in Gate No. 2 area of Sholashahar.
The administrator gave the directive while inspecting the progress of beautification of Biplob Udyan on Tuesday afternoon. During the inspection, the administrator saw that initially the contract was for 150 square feet, but each shop was expanded to 200 square feet. The seats of the shops have been installed by narrowing the road for public movement. In addition, the shops were set up by constructing a two-storey building in violation of the terms of the agreement with City Corporation.
Expressing displeasure over these irregularities and inconsistencies, the Administrator said, “We cannot allow to do this only out of commercial thinking, it goes beyond the agreement of Chattogram City Corporation or fulfilling personal interests.”
In this regard, the engineers of the contracting company Md. Miznur Rahman said that they we will perform the work as per the contract. The illegal shop will remain closed until the both parties reach a decision. Otherwise legal action will be taken through mobile court CCC Administrator added.
City Corporation CEO Mohammad Samsuddoha, Secretary Abu Shahed Chowdhury, Chief Revenue Officer Mohammad Mufidul Alam, Engineer Ali Ashraf, Prabir Kumar Sen, Administrator’s Private Secretary Mohammad Abul Hashem, Chief Urban Planner AKM Rezaul Karim, were present at that time.
Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, owner of Reform Limited and Style Living Architect, is working as a contractor for Biplob Udyan renovation and beautification Project.
