The anti-government movement has to be intensified through achieving success in the elections,” he said.Calling upon the BNP-led 20-party men to actively take part in the elections to Dhaka south, Dhaka north and Chittagong city corporations, Emajuddin said, “You will have to ensure your control in the three cities through ensuring victory in the polls. Otherwise, you must suffer more in the days to come.”Addressing a discussion at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) arranged by Zia Kalyan Parishad, he also said it will be easy to root out the fascism if the BNP-backed candidates come out successful in the polls. “If you win this battle, you’ll win this war.”Emajuddin, also a former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, urged the law enforcers not to create obstacles to the electioneering of any candidate, and create a level-playing field so that the all the contenders can reach their voters. He advised the opposition men, especially young ones, to instantly spread all over the world if any irregularity is found in the election process. The eminent political scientist called upon the government to take all necessary steps so that the elections to the three cities do not get stigmatised like that of held in the past under it.Terming the current government unethical and public support-less one, Emajuddin said the members of Shoto Nagorik Committee platform will go to every ward of Dhaka’s two cities to seek votes in support of pro-democratic candidates. He also said people from all walks of life will have to involve with the Shoto Nagorik Committee. “A 501-member special committee was formed in Chittagong.
