CBA calls all-out movements against PDB’s Rajshahi and Rangpur zone to make company

PDB Sramik Karmochari-Kormakarta Oikya Parishad has announced that it would continue all-out movement against the government’s move to make its Rajshahi and Rangpur distribution zone as company.
Leaders of the platform took the decision at a protest meeting held at the Bidyut Bhaban (PDB building) in the city on Monday. Delegates from the CBA, Engineers and officials of the Power Development Board joined the meeting.
Convener of the platform Mustafizur Rahman presided over the meeting, while Zahirul Islam Chowdhury, vice president of Jatiyo Sramik League and CBA President of PDB, Alauddin Mian, CBA General Secretary of PDB, and Engineer MM Siddique, General Secretary of Bangabandhu Prokaushaly Parishad also addressed it, among others.
The Sramik Karmochari-Kormokarta Oikya Parsishad demanded of the government to stop the move of transformation of the Rajshahi and Rangpur distribution zone of the PDB as company.
The leaders claimed that all the move of transformation of the two zones has been taken to implement the ill motive of some officials. They termed the move as nothing but conspiracy and anti-national interest.
The leaders in the meeting announced programme to realise their demand. The programme includes– officials and workers continue to stage demonstration and hold protest rallies until April 30 by erecting podium at the PDB building in Rajshahi and Rangpur zone.
The officials and workers will stage demonstration every day from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at all offices of PDB, including Motijheel WAPDA Bhaban and the building of Abdul Gani road in Dhaka. They will hold rally in front of Rajshahi PDB Bhaban on April 26, while their grand rally will be held April 28 in front of PDB Bhaban in Dhaka. They will also hold sit-in programme in Rajshahi and Rangpur zone.
