Staff Reporter :The depression over the Northwest Bay and the adjoining West Central Bay moved northwestwards and crossed Orissa coast between Gopalpur and Puri and now lies over Orissa and adjoining area as a well-marked low, said Special Weather Bulletin of Met Office on Monday.The Special Weather Bulletin said, under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal No. three. All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, said the Special Weather Bulletin of Met Office. Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions and many places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderate to heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
