A cattle trader was hacked to death by unknown assailants at Milonpur in Birganj upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Sharif, 38, son of Chan Miah of Araji Milanpur village in the upazila.
Police said unknown miscreants stabbed the cattle trader with sharp weapons while he was returning home from bazaar around 10:00 pm, leaving him critically injured.
Later, locals rushed Sharif to Thakhurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
