bdnews24.com :The BJP’s ideological fountainhead Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has asked India’s federal government to take strong measures to stop cow smuggling and influx of illegal migrants through porous India-Bangladesh border.The directive was given at a three-day long coordination meeting held between BJP leaders and their ideologues in New Delhi.Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended the meeting on the third day on Friday, was also asked to take measures to spread the saffron base across India.In the meeting, the RSS leaders conveyed to the BJP the feedbacks they got from their sister organisations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) about what is expected of a BJP-led government, sources privy to the discussions said.”The government was also asked to deal with the issue of cow smuggling and influx problem with a strong hand,” a party leader, who attended the marathon meeting, said on condition of anonymity.However, the government was told that while dealing with the twin issues, cordial relations between India and Bangladesh should be kept in mind, he said.Ahead of the next year’s crucial assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam, the two states which share border with Bangladesh, the BJP is expected to make cow smuggling and infiltration issues their electoral planks.Almost all the ministers of the BJP-led NDA government made presentation during the meeting.
