A suspected cattle lifter was killed in a lynch-mob attack at Luky village in Goainghat upazila upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Mantaj Ali,40.
Locals said when Rajendra Biswas raised a hue and cry sensing presence of cattle lifter around 1 am Saturday local people rushed to the spot and caught Mantaj.
They gave him a good beating, leaving him critically injured.
Police rescued him at 9 am Saturday and he died on way to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
