A cattle trader was killed and 12 others injured as a truck overturned on the Chuadanga-Jhenidah highway in Chhoy Mile area in Sadar upazila on Monday night.The deceased was identified as Sagor Hossain, 27, a resident of Bego Para in Damurhuda upazila.
Quoting witnesses, police said a Joypurhat-bound cattle-laden truck with 15/20 cattle traders on board overturned as its driver lost control over its wheels on the highway around 10pm while it was trying to overtake another truck, leaving Sagor dead on the spot and 12 others injured.
On information, two fire fighting units rushed to the spot and rescued the injured.
The injured were admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
