News Desk :
A special train called ‘Cattle Express’ has been launched yesterday to transport sacrificial cattle on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The train was launched on Saturday afternoon and it will run for three days. Cows, buffaloes, goats and sheep will be transported on this special train.
Railway Dhaka Divisional Chief Commercial Officer Shawkat Jamil Mohsi said two of the three trains would come from Dewanganj Bazar and Islampur in Jamalpur and
one from Chapainawabganj. Each of these trains has a capacity of 400 animals.
It is learned that the number of bogies that the Cattle Express train will run on depends on the interest of the traders. Traders must take at least one bogie to transport the animals.
This special train has been arranged by Bangladesh Railway so that traders can bring sacrificial cattle to the capital for sale without any hassle. The cattle special train was also introduced last year for the convenience of traders.
