Sheikh Arif Bulbon :In the beginning of 80’s when there was very limited concern regarding men’s fashion brands the couple Sayeed Siddiqui Rumi and Ashrafun Siddiqui Dora started a super shop on Green Road in the capital that sold miscellaneous daily items with a small corner for customised men’s shirts. They took a bold initiative to launch Cats Eye, a brand dedicated to sell designer clothes for men. In time it emerged as a renowned fashion house over 30 years. Since then there was no looking back. Now Cats Eye is the most popular brand in the country for men’s office and casual wear and a complete wardrobe solution for every occasion. During the 35-year journey, Cats Eye has become one of the leading brands of the country with more than 37 outlets throughout the country. Cats Eye also introduced two new lines of products under the name Monsoon Rain and Unlimited. Monsoon Rain is the ultimate clothing line for the executives, whereas Unlimited was created to satisfy the stylish men’s casual wear segment. Later it also introduced ladies wear, shoes, handbags and silver jewelleries. With wide array of both eastern and western collection, the ladies collection has been equally successful. Recently the brand inaugurated its flagship store at Jamuna Future Park in the city through a glamorous event titled ‘Cats Eye Red Carpet Show.’ Leading models walked the red carpet sporting Cats Eye clothes. In the four queues, formal, casual, funky and upcoming summer collections of both men and women were exhibited. The founders, designers and directors of the company were introduced to the audience at the event. The programme was hosted by model Antu Karim and Orchi and the catwalk were choreographed by Syed Ruma. The show curtains were dropped with a loud cheer for the designers of Cats Eye – Rumaella and Sadiq and the entire Cats Eye crew. In this largest outlet of Cats Eye, both men and women clothes along with accessories are available. Formal, casual and funky wears for women and included sneak peek into their summer collection. Sleeveless tops, printed leggings, retro heels for classy and free-spirited women and solid textured polo shirts for men were the central themes for the casual and funky queues along with denim jackets, trilby hats, and colourful pants for the gentlemen. Stylish flowery dresses, elegant knee-length skirts, and formal shirts followed by men in check shirts, vests, and blazers were presented in the formal queue of the fashion event.
