Lutfun Nahar, wife of Feni district youth party president Zakir Hossain Jasim, filed a case against18 people including Nizam Uddin, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Feni Model Police Station.
When the case was filed in the Feni Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday, Judge Muhammad Ashekur Rahman has accepted it and ordered the PBI to investigate. Feni Court Police Inspector Golam Jilani informed this information.
The defendants in the case are, OC Md. Nizam Uddin, Second Officer of Feni Model Police Station SI Md. Imran Hossain, Narayan Chandra Das, DSB SI Habibur Rahman, former president of the 16th Ward Chhatra League Sabbir Hossain and Chhatra League leader Md Saikat.
According to the court sources, the judge said during the hearing of the case, the Feni PBI Superintendent of Police has been instructed to verify the initial facts within the next month. The order must have asked an officer above the OC to investigate the case. The next hearing is scheduled for September 11.
According to the details of the case, Zakir Hossain Jasim (48), president of Feni District Jubo Dal, was arrested on the night of July 21 from Vijaynagar area of Paltan in Dhaka with the help of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Then Zakir Hossain Jasim was brought from Dhaka in Feni. Police searched his house that night and demanded to recover weapons. However, his family claims that the police framed them with weapons from their pockets.
However, a video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Lutfun Nahar claims that her husband was framed by the police with weapons. Zakir Hossain’s house is in Machimpur village of Dhalia Union of Feni Sadar Upazila. But he lived in a house in Rampur of Feni town. According to the police, a case was registered against Zakir Hossain on charges of extortion on February 12 this year.
The police arrested him in that case. According to the information given by Zakir Hossain after his arrest, a 7.65 mm pistol, T magazine, 4 bullets and 2 knives were recovered from his house in Rampur, Feni city. Feni Model Police Station has filed a case under Arms Act against him in connection with the recovery of weapons.
