A case was lodged with Morrelganj PS by Jahangir Alam, Station Officer (SO) of Jewdhara Forest Officer under the Eastern Davidson of Sundarbans (in Bagerhat district) at Friday night (case No.16 dated December 24, 2021 accusing one Riad Hawladar and unidentified 15/20 others of village Jewdhara under Morrelganj Upazila on the charge of attacking the forest guards, breaking rifle and snatching away the ammunitions from them.
Md. Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, Officer-in-charge, Morrelganj PS told, forest department lodged a complaint with the PS on the charge of hindering the forest guards to discharge Government Official duties, breaking the fire arm and snatching away their ammunitions and the complaint was already taken as a FIR. In this connection Tuhin Mondol Officer-in-Charge (investigation) who is Investigation Officer told, police already started the raiding in the area in order to arrest the accused persons and recover the snatched ammunitions. It is mentionable here that on Thursday morning while the forest guards were discharging their duties in the village (jewdhara) a gang of miscreants attacked the forest guards. The miscreant injured 3 of the forest guards after beating them seriously, broke their one Chinese rifle and snatched away 5 rounds of ammunitions.
