After suspending in charge and closing personnel of police camp on Tuesday night, a case lodged on Wednesday in connection of looting Harta Bazar and killing businessman.
Khokon Bepari, son of the killed businessman Sohrab Bepari, as complainant lodged the case with Wazirpur police station on Wednesday against 10/12 unnamed accused, said Golam Sarwar, officer in charge of the police station.
Drive to arrest the accused going on, but none was arrested till this report, the OC added.
Journalists after visiting the spot Wednesday found that the Harta fish market remains closed feeling insecurity in facing the dacoits.
On other hand S M Aktaruzzaman, district police superintendent of Barisal, said Sub Inspector Mozaffar, in charge of Harta police camp, was suspended for negligence of duty.
Nine other members including one ASI, two Nayeks and six constables of the camp were closed to Barisal Rang Reserve Force (RRF) lines at Barisal for their failure to prevent the crime and new group replaced them.
Md. Humayun Kabir, additional police superintendent of Barisal, after visiting the spot on Tuesday night, said negligence of police already proved and investigation against the closed and suspended police personals against their alleged involvement with the criminals already started.
