A case has been filed against Opposition Chief Whip Mashiur Rahman Ranga in Satkhira for making derogatory remarks on slain pro-democracy activist Noor Hossain.
Advocate M Shah Alam, President of District Ainjibi Samity, filed the case court on Thursday.
The hearing of the case was held around 1:30pm, but the Judge did not give any order.
While speaking at a Jatiya Party meeting at its Banani office on November 10, Ranga said that Noor Hossain, a young pro-democracy activist, who sacrificed his life on November 10, 1987, during the movement to end the autocratic regime of HM Ershad, was a Yaba and Phensidyl addict.
The remarks sparked widespread criticisms.
