A case has been filed against Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmad and six others in Narsingdil blaming them for anomalies in the municipal polls in Madhabdi.
Md Obaidur Rahman, a defeated councilor candidate, filed case in the first joint defiled case in the first joint district judge’s court on Thursday.
A hearing will be held on Mar 1 Court police Inspector Shahidur Rahman said.
The complainant has alleged that the poll in Madhabdi on Dec 30 had been suspended due to malpractices, but there was trouble again on Jan 12, the day of re polling. He has demanded the recounting of the votes cast in Ward 4.
Narsingdi’s DC, returning officer, election officer, presiding officer, the elected councilor and another defeated councilor candidate have een named in the case.
