A case was filed on Thursday against Bangladesh Chhatra League leader Nurul Azim Rony on charge of assaulting a private college principal and demanding extortion. The victim Jahed Khan, principal of Chittagong Biggan College, and also a presidium member of National People’s Party, filed the case with Chawkbazar police station accusing Nurul Azim Rony, general secretary of Chittagong city unit of BCL, and six others named and 30 unnamed people, said Mir Mohammad Nurul Huda, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station.
Jahed Khan was allegedly assaulted by Nurul Azim Rony on March 31 at Chittagong Biggan College in Chawkbazar area.The incident came to light after CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media.
The footage shows that the BCL men, led by Rony, pushed Jahed Khan into his office An unauthenticated sources said Rony went to the college premises by taking side of HSC students of the college as the principal was not giving the students their admit cards without Tk 5000.Nurul Azim Rony also filed a case against Jahed Khan on charge of fraudulence with the HSC students of the college.
