Pabna killings: Case filed against 64 BNP, Jamaat men

A case was filed on Monday against 64 BNP-Jamaat men in connection with the killings of four ruling party activists in Ataikula.
Jahurul Islam, brother of victim Sultan Mahmud, filed the case against 39 named people and 25 unidentified ones with Ataikula Police Station.
The accused include Ataikula union BNP president Rafiqul Islam Mona, chairman of nearby Ekdanta union parishad and Jamaat leader Lokman
 Hossain, Babul, Moniruzzaman, Momin, Kiam Uddin, Anwar, Rakib, Nazmul, Saiful, Yunus, Razzaque, Majid and Masud.
Police have so far arrested 13 people in connection with the murders. However, they were not FIR-named accused, said officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station Akram Hossain.
Four leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies were killed and another was injured in a gun attack at Pushpapara Bazar on Pabna-Nagarbari highway in Sadar upazila on Saturday night.
The victims are Rafiqul Islam, a leader of Ataikula thana unit of Jubo League, Sultan Mahmud, 37, Fazlur Rahman Fazlur, 35, and Abdus Salam, 38.
