Case filed against 500 BNP men over Tuesday’s clash

Staff Reporter : A case was filed in the city’s Shahbagh Police Station against 500 BNP men in connection with Tuesday’s clash between police and a group of BNP leaders and activists in front of the High Court.

Matiur Rahman, Sub-Inspector of the police station filed the case late on Tuesday night.
Among the accused, 20-25 was identified and 475 are unidentified people, police said.

Tuesday’s clash was taken place in front of the High Court, when a group of BNP leaders and activists were demonstrating in front of the High Court, seeking release of the party’s imprisoned Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Two policemen injured in the incident.

A number of vehicles were also vandalized during the clash.

Besides, police on Tuesday late night around 1:45 am arrested Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat in a drive from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in connection with the case.

Ishtiaq was scheduled to go to Malaysia, said, BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
