Case filed against 3 RU shopkeepers for cheating BCS aspirants

A case was filed allegedly against three shopkeepers for cheating with 40th BCS preliminary examination applicants during online registration in Paribahna market area of Rajshahi University (RU).

The convict shopkeepers are– Mustak Ahmed Mamun and his two other associates Rafiqul Islam Akash, 19, Arif Hossain, 24.
Abdul Momin, a student of Information Science and Library Mangement of the university filed the case accusing three alleged shopkeepers on Saturday.
RU Proctor Prof Lutfar Rahman in this regard said that they have already recovered Tk 1, 45,000 from the main culprit Mustak Ahmed Mamun. Two hundred students have been already given the money back. They are also trying to continuously for recovery the other applicant’s money from the identified frauds. After recovery money, the applicant’s money will be back immediately, also said RU proctor.
According to the case statement, he filled up the BCS examination form through online of the Mustak’s shop. ‘When I had entered into PSC website through the user ID and password, it shown me as an eye disabled despite being normal. On that day, I can also know that about two hundred applicants fall into this deception like to me.’
Asking to the question, officer in charge of Motihar police station Shahadat Hossain said that the convicts were sent to jail through the court order.
Noted, the three shopkeepers of the university cheated with the 40th BCS candidates as the shopkeepers collected Tk 700 from each applicant, but paid only Tk 100 by filing each application under “visually disabled” category on the form. Over two hundred applicants are victims of the deception.
