Attempt to rape a girl: Case filed against 3 in Noakhali

A case has been filed with Noakhali’s Senbagh Police Station for allegedly trying to rape a 19-year-old girl by stopping a battery- run autorickshaw.
On Friday night, the victim’s father filed the case against the three persons naming one.
According to case statement, the father was going to Noakhali’s Senbagh Upazila by a battery-powered autorickshaw with his daughter on Friday evening. Around 6.30pm three scoundrels led by one Babul (22) stopped their autorickshaw.
After that the scoundrels started beating the driver, a passenger a man and his daughter claiming there are illegal things in the autorickshaw.
Afterwards, they took the girl into the nearest garden forcedly and tried to rape the girl. After failing to rape, they tried to strangle the girl.
Hearing the screams of father and daughter, the locals of the area rushed towards the garden, but the scoundrels fled the spot. Later, the people rescued the girl from the garden and sent her to the police station through the local UP chairman.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Senbagh Police Station Abdul Baten Mridha confirmed the matter to the media and said a case had been filed against Babul and two others. No one has been arrested yet.
Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
