Hathazari Police filed case against fifteen leaders and activists of a faction of Chittagong University (CU) unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) along with twenty others on Monday night for their alleged involved with the attack on teachers and their family members on February 15.
All the accused were member of a shuttle train based CU BCL platform, “Choose Friends with Care (CFC)” led by former vice-president Amit Kumar Basu and Joint Secretary Sumon Mamun of CU dissolved committee.
CU Registrar Alamgir Hossain Chowdhury lodged the case (No: 28). Confirming this sub-inspector of Hathazari Police Station Kamrul Islam said the accused are— Abdul Hannan Sabbir, Alauddin Alam, Mizanur Rahman Minu, Moazzem Hossain James, Rasheduzzaman Shuvo, Nuruzzaman, Monsur, Fahim, Nasim Al Siam, Abdur Rahman Sharif, Shariful Islam, Niajuddin, Saniruzzaman and Al-Amin.
Contacted, Md Ismail, officer-in-charge of Hathazari police station said “Among the accused two were arrested in another case and our operation is going on to arrest others.”
