Case against Shipra Ramu OC seeks apology over inconsistency in seizure lists

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramu police station Abul Khayer on Thursday sought unconditional apology to a court in Cox’s Bazar over inconsistency in two seizure lists in a case filed against Shipra Debnath after the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Complying with the court order, the OC appeared before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Delwar Hossain at 12 noon and sought apology. Cox’s Bazar senior lawyer MA Bari confirmed the matter.
Court sources said Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at a checkpost at Shamlapur area under Baharchhara union along the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive on July 31 night.
After Sinha’s killing, police conducted a drive at Nilima Resort in Ramu, where the retired army officer and his three coworkers including Shipra Devnath were staying to make a documentary.
Police seized 29 evidences, made two separate seizure lists and arrested Shipra from there.
Later, the court summoned the OC and sought an explanation from him over the making two lists.
