Case against RAB-14 in B’baria

A murder case was filed against 11 persons including nine personnel of Rapid Action Battalion’s (RAB) – 14 for allegedly beating to death businessman Shahinur Alam at Nabinagar in Brahmanbaria district on April 29, 2014.
RAB-14’s Captain and Commanding Officer (CO) A Z M Shakib Siddiquee has been stated as one of the accused in the case.
Mehidi Hasan, elder brother of Shahinur filed the case in the court of Senior Magistrate Nazmun Nahar of Nabinagar on Sunday.
June 4 has been set the date for further hearing of the case.
The accused in the case also include RAB-14 Bhairab camp SI Enamul Huq and Nazrul Islam of village Krishnanagar village of Nabinagar and Abu Taher, son of Sarafat Ali .
Sixteen lawyers of Brahmanbaria appeared on behalf of the complainant in the court
Earlier, allegation was raised against RAB-11 for the killing of seven persons including panel mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation Nazrul Islam and advocate Chandan Sarker. A case was filed in this connection accusing three RAB officials Lt Col Tareq Sayeed Mohammad, Major Arif Hossain and Lt. Commander SM Rana. All the three officials have already been removed from their services. Allegation has been raised that they were behind sensational seven murder in Narayanganj in exchange for Tk. six crore.
