As cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore’s ear has been damaged severely, he will have to use hearing aid, said his elder brother Ahsan Kabir.
Kabir said as per doctors’ advise Kishore, who was in prison for last 10 months in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA), will need to use hearing aid.
“Kishore has underwent various medical tests and he will have to stay in hospital some more days. Doctors said Kishore needs more tests related to ear. The doctors will take the decision of surgery later on the day,” his elder brother added.
He has been undergoing treatment and under close observation of the physicians at a hospital in Dhaka for last three days.
Ahsan Kabir said, “Doctors are monitoring cartoonist Kishore’s diabetics and blood pressure levels as their are fluctuating. He is giving medicine for leg problem. Still, he needs someone’s help to stand. He needs rest.”
Kishore was arrested with writer Mushtaq on charges of propagating disinformation against the government on social media in a case under the DSA.
Writer Mushtaq Ahmed, co-accused in the same case, died in jail on February 25. Kishore was released on a six-month bail on March 4.
