Cargo ban may be withdrawn from Feb

Economic Reporter :
There is a direct ban on transport of goods (cargo restrictions) from Bangladesh to the United Kingdom and European Union countries.
The Civil Aviation Ministry’s parliamentary committee Chairman Faruk Khan infers that the cargo ban is likely to be withdrawn from February 2018.
Cargo ban was not lifted even after meeting and audit. Those countries are imposing different restrictions and excuses and applying new conditions.
Faruk Khan said that the United Kingdom (UK) is likely to lift the restrictions on the direct transportation of goods in the air from Bangladesh. But without judicial review, the country has made some new conditions for withdrawal of the ban. Among them, the terms of appointment of some of their representatives are notable. But we have continued contact. Hopefully the ban will be lifted by the United Kingdom on February 2018.
Besides, the European Aviation Security Agency (EASA) is coming to investigate the security of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’s cargo handling system though the UK Transport Department expressed its satisfaction over the safety standards of Hazart Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) audit in November. In December, the United States assured the civil aviation ministry of London that the ban will be lifted at the beginning of the new year.
But the UK did not made that promise. Air Vice Marshal M Naim Hassan, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority (CCA) told media that our standard of safety at the airport is international. He said, the ban may be withdrawn at any time.
It is to be noted that, on March 8, 2016, due to the security deficit, the UK and then European Union countries restricted direct trade of goods from Bangladesh.
Now Bangladesh is the third country to export goods to these countries. The cost of the cargo sector has increased considerably. In addition, income declined in this sector.
