City Mayor of Chittagong AJM Nasir Uddin blamed the city dwellers for their carelessness for water logging in city. He said creation of the water logging is only reasons of lock of
uncarefulness .
He said city residents willingly dumping household wastes in the khals and drains indiscriminately caused easy flow of drain and khals water to downstream.
He disclosed it while addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony of Kaiser-Nilufar city corporation College on Sunday as chief guest. City mayor in his brief deliberations said khals and drains in the city are being occupied by unauthorized persons where different types of installations are built unauthorized.
He said this water logging crisis is a long standing problem of Chittagong City which can not be mitigated overnight and will take time . In the meantime, a MOU was signed with a Chinese firm to take the task on G to G project formula, he added. President of Education standing committee of CCC councilor Nazmul Hoque Duke, councilor Nurul Hoque Haji, school inspector Chittagong education board Suman Barua, Principal of the college Sk. Md. Omar Faruk spoke on the occasion duly presided by Panel Mayor Hasan Md. Mahmud Hasni, sources said.
