Prof Dr Asit Baran Adhikary, Chairman of Cardiac Surgery Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), obtained his Fellowship of Royal Colleges of Surgeons (FRCS) from the Royal College of Surgeons at Edinburg and England respectively.
Professor Derek Anderson, President of Royal College of Surgeons of England recently handed over a certificate of the fellowship to Prof Asit Baran at a function held in London.
Prof Adhikary so far invented 23 procedures of cardiac operations including beating heart bypass surgery in the country.
