After one year of its completion, finally the newly constructed car shed of Chittagong Port is going to be opened from May 7 next. This car shed was constructed at a cost of Tk.l24 crores having capacity of 900 imported vehicles.
Ports and Shipping Minister Md. Shahjahan Khan MP is expected to inaugurate the car shed on May 7 next as chief guest. Port sosurces said new car shed will save the imported valuable vehicles from sun rays in open sky within the port premises as well as will increase the capacity of the port which is a new dimension in this sector. Construction contractor M/s. Pratunu Wahab begins the construction of the shed infornt of port stadium in 2004 which completed one year ago but due to procrastinations , the opening is delayed , unauthenticated sources said.
