Commander of Boeing 777 aircraft fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Captain Ishtiaque Hossain has been elected as the Executive Vice President (VP) (Asia Pacific) of International Federation of Airline Pilots Association (IFALPA) for the second consecutive term. Till now, none of the airline pilots of this sub-continent was elected even for a single term in this highest professional post, a Biman press release said in the city on Monday.
The national flag carrier captain was elected through direct voting procedure recently at the Annual Conference of the IFALPA at Berlin, Germany, attended by 550 delegates throughout the world. He will be responsible for the aviation sector of the Asia Pacific countries like Australia, China, Hong Kong, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Thailand and all of the SAARC countries.
