Chittagong Bureau :
Stock Exchange chairman Muhammad Abdul Mazid on Friday said investors should be cautious in making investment in the capital market.
He made the suggestion while speaking at a discussion on the closing day of the two-day 5th Capital Market Fair organised by the CSE at the GEC Convention Centre in the port city, a CSE news release said.
‘Investors should consider companies’ financial statements for making investment on stocks,’ Mazid said.
He also called on the businesspeople to enlist their companies with the capital market in a bid to strengthen economy as well as the stock market.
Speakers at the discussion said due to the structural upgradation of the capital market the risk of making investment in the market had reduced significantly.
Speaking in the closing session of the fair, CSE managing director Wali-ul-Maroof Matin said, ‘We have achieved our target in terms of creating awareness among investors and to attract new investors through the fair.’
As many as 15,000 people visited the fair, he said.
