The Public Service Commission (PSC) has banned mobile phones, electronic watches and electronic pens inside the examination halls during the Bangladesh Civil Service examination.
It is scheduled to be held on December 29.
There is a bar even on use of calculator inside the examination halls from this year. The PSC took the decision in an emergency meeting on Sunday, the commission sources said.
Punitive actions will ould be taken if anyone is found to have these devices. He or she may be disqualified even for the BCS examination, it said.
The PSC members at a meeting argued that some electronic watches and pens available in the market have the capacity of internal storage and built-in memory.
Anyone can misuse the technology, they observed.
The PSC will arrange wall clock for the candidates during the examination.
